Search and selection firms (often referred to as ‘Search’) are ‘client led’. They work on an assignment basis whereby an organisation retains them (invariably on an exclusive basis) to find a shortlist of candidates for a specific requirement. Each assignment is unique, requiring a shortlist of candidates that specifically match that requirement and who have been assessed against the particular needs. The consultancy works for the employer.
