Start by listing down all the influential/connected/knowledgeable people that you actually know. Don’t worry if it is broad and includes some people you don’t know that well. Often relationships will develop. The list will build further as you work through it. Don’t underestimate a contact who may be outside of your perceived network, but do think about how you will make contact with that person. In the first instance you might not always be able tio identify what they know, who they know or indeed how you may be able to help them.
